Mine Monero after changing algorithm to V7
After the hardfork, which was aimed against the asics, Monero changed the algorithm to V7, so the settings and the program for mining changed. In this article, we decided to disassemble how to mine on the new algorithm.
There are two options, how you can get a wallet, the first is to download the program on the official website, which will install a wallet on your machine, but keep in mind that the whole block will be download. The second way to go straight to the purse created on the stock exchange, for example at Bittrex, but not all exchanges support this function and in this regard you need to be careful.
There are several pools that can be mined:
- monero.crypto-pool.fr 2.77 MH / s
- bohemianpool.com 547.47 KH / s
- xmrpool.eu 826.40 KH / s
- monero.hashvault.pro 6.12 MH / s
- MoneroOcean.stream 3.00 MH / s
- xmr.nanopool.org 185.24 MH
I suggest using the xmr.nanopool.org pool, since it has the largest capacity, and therefore the blocks are more frequent.
Please note that you need to specify not only the address and the Payment id.
Soft and configuration
For AMD cards
For mining, we will use the Claymore’s CryptoNote GPU Miner v11.3 miner, which can be downloaded from the developer’s link, download the latest version.
After downloading, unpacking and searching for the file start_xmr.bat, the following lines should be inserted into it:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
NsGpuCNMiner.exe -xpool ssl: //xmr-eu1.nanopool.org: 14433 -xwal 463tWEBn5XZJSxLU6uLQnQ2iY9xuNcDbjLSjkn3XAXHCbLrTTErJrBWYgHJQyrCwkNgYvyV3z8zctJLPCZy24jvb3NiTcTJ.c6fd1f27c316423980b4c738fe5d100f3e1695e5ae564c4c981d85976a698972.777 -xpsw z -pow7 1
Note that a long number is your address and the Payment Id specified through the point in the format ADDRESS.PAYMENT-ID.Worker, the name of the worker is indicated arbitrarily.
Mining Monero V7 on the processor
To run the new Monero algorithm on the processor, we also use the Claymore’s CryptoNote Windows Miner, which can be downloaded from this link.
We perform the same manipulations regarding the search for the file start_xmr_pow7.bat and insert the following lines into it:
NsCpuCNMiner64.exe -o stratum + ssl: //xmr-eu1.nanopool.org: 14433 -u 463tWEBn5XZJSxLU6uLQnQ2iY9xuNcDbjLSjkn3XAXHCbLrTTErJrBWYgHJQyrCwkNgYvyV3z8zctJLPCZy24jvb3NiTcTJ.c6fd1f27c316423980b4c738fe5d100f3e1695e5ae564c4c981d85976a698972.777 -p x
There is one moment, the original miner starts in Slow Mode, to enable Fast Mode, you need to find the file NsCpuCNMiner64.exe and in the settings and run as administrator.
After that, the Faster mode will enable.
To check whether the mining actually started, you need to copy ADDRESS.PAYMENT-ID.Worker and paste it into the top field, on the “Home” page of the pool.
Next you will see the following image:
Here is your hashs and balance. By the way, it will be necessary to wait 10-15 minutes for statistics to be displayed on the site.
